Paula Patton (born in 1960) is an American actress. She has also directed films such as Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol. She was born into a middle-class household living in Los Angeles, she harboured huge dreams when she was a kid. A passion for film in her daughter was something that she learned from her mother, who was also a fan of movies. Paula loved participating in school co-curricular activities, and she was a huge fan of drama. Paula loved acting with friends and was a part of the school's stage productions. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School produced many plays and the actress decided that acting was her chosen career. She was part of the University of Southern Cal's Summer program and enjoyed it immensely. The program offered her a three-month contract to make documentaries on PBS. When she was able to complete the assignment well, she was able to begin working as an assistant in TV documentary production. After that, she started producing documentaries. The work was enjoyable however, she always wanted to pursue a career as an actor. She started her career in acting by playing Will Smith's co-star for the romantic comedy Hitch. In the years since, she has been in numerous film and television shows.
