Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Amy Smart was born and raised California USA began her modelling in Italy. Her first acting role was in 1996's TV movie Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get a part for Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. It was difficult for her to transition into acting since models were not considered as an actor, so they typically were given small roles. However, Amy did not give up and transitioned to bigger roles eventually starting with the TV series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. Amy then stepped into lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years struggling. Amy went on to work in some of the biggest movies, including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played an enduring character.
